Other Oral Surgeries

Back
Other oral surgeries include preparatory operations required before dental implantation and improving the condition of dental complications.

TYPES OF SURGICAL OPERATIONS:
  • Root resection and removal of cysts;
  • Abscess opening (incision);
  • Attachment of orthodontic supports;
  • Sinus lift;
  • Bone augmentation.

ROOT RESECTION AND CYST REMOVAL
  • During this surgery, the inflammatory tissue at the top of the tooth root is removed. The tip of the tooth root is often removed at the same time.
ABSCESS OPENING (INCISION)
  • Such surgeries are needed when untreated teeth develop swelling, which is accompanied by severe pain. During the operation, the abscess is opened and a small drain is inserted. After the treatment, antibiotic therapy is prescribed.
ATTACHMENT OF ORTHODONTIC SUPPORTS
  • Orthodontic microimplants are used when there is purposeful repulsion of the teeth without having to attach braces on all the teeth of the jaw.
SINUS LIFT
  • The cavities in the upper jaw are called sinuses. During the operation of the sinus lift, the lower wall of the sinus is thickened using bone substitutes. In cases where the sinuses of the upper jaw have lowered and the residual height of the bone is too short to thread the implant, this operation is performed and a synthetic bone substitute is added to the base of the sinuses. After this surgery, the Patient usually should wait for 6 months before continuing with the implantation.

BONE AUGMENTATION
  • It is a fixation of a block bone substitute to the numb jaw. This procedure is performed when the width and height of the jaw have changed, making it technically impossible to thread the implant. Threading of the implant is possible once more than 6 months have passed after the surgery.
